Ray is a Partner of Lawler Partners Business Recovery and Insolvency team.

He is experienced in all forms of corporate and personal insolvency administrations where he has particular expertise in developing and managing business recovery and work-out programs for a range of industries. More specifically, the hospitality, manufacturing, retail/wholesale and building industries.

Ray’s recent and significant formal insolvency appointments have included:

• Receiver and Manager for a major bank in relation to a guest resort in the Hunter Valley.
• Voluntary Administrator for a large franchise office equipment supplier.
• Receiver and Manager to a national hardware supplier
• Liquidator of a company involving a fraud investigation of $30M.
• Voluntary Administrator for a national and international engineering, manufacturing and wholesale corporation.
• Turnaround Consulting to a heavy engineering company.

Ray’s depth of experience is well regarded in business and consulting and provides the necessary skills and ability to undertake forensic accounting investigations and independent expert reports.

Ray’s experience in forensic accounting includes business valuations, family law valuations, economic loss reports and insolvency reports .

Ray’s recent Forensic experience includes:

• Acting as Single Expert witness in Family Law disputes
• Corporate Fraud investigation, quantifying and briefing DPP.
• Valuing Businesses for mergers and acquisitions
• Assisting client negotiations for purchase of shares 
• Assisting lawyers in litigation support including the interpretation of financial aspects of legal agreements, tax consequences of settlements/awards for damages and preparing critiques of opposing expert reports.
• Calculation of the loss of profits and damages suffered by businesses due to particular events.
• Investigation of company affairs to establish point of insolvency and quantification of losses incurred through insolvent trading.

Ray is also an experienced Mediator and Arbitrator of commercial disputes and is regularly nominated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia to assist in determining financial disputes between parties.
