Peter McLean

Peter McLean is a Director of Lawler Partners and a senior member of the Lawler Hospitality and Gaming team - CMP Lawler.

Peter has extensive experience in the club, hotel, hospitality and tourism industries and has experience in the audit and financial review of private and public companies.

Peter specialises in providing professional advice and service to Clubs, hotels and other tourism/hospitality operations, particularly in the areas of Corporate Governance, Operational Issues, Strategic Planning, Amalgamations & Takeovers, Due Diligence, Taxation, Financial Reviews and Management Accounting.

With over 25 years experience he is an acknowledged expert in the area of Registered Clubs and has acted as an expert witness on a number of occasions in relation to licensing court matters regarding the management and accounting practices of clubs.

Peter was a co presenter of the Club GST Ready Program. This involved presenting over 70 seminars to the Club Directors and Managers and co-authoring the Club GST Manual. He provided technical advice on a wide range of matters, as well as playing a role in the response to the NSW Government on Amalgamations in the Club Industry and the Australian Taxation Office on the taxation of Clubs.

Peter has been a guest speaker at many industry events and conferences – including ClubsNSW Annual Conferences, ClubsNSW Workshops outlining the impact of the new Gaming Machines Act, and the interpreting of the new Corporate Governance amendments to the Registered Clubs Act.

His industry experience has resulted in numerous roles as guest speaker at ClubsNSW “road shows” and Club Directors Institute Workshops on a range of topics. In addition Peter has lectured in the Hunter Institute of TAFE Hotel Licensees Course for new hoteliers and the Diploma of Hospitality Management.
