Clayton is a Partner of Lawler Partners and leads our Audit and Assurance Team. Clayton has over 13 years experience in practice and has worked in both Sydney and Newcastle.
Prior to joining Lawler Partners, Clayton was a Senior Manager in a Big 4 accounting firm, providing audit, risk and technical advisory services to large national and international businesses. In addition, he has also worked in Transaction Services, predominantly involved in due diligence activities and the preparation of independent accountants and experts reports.
Clayton’s interests lie firmly in assisting the “middle market”, in particular businesses experiencing growth, and who rely on a proactive audit function in order to remain up to date, improve governance and operating efficiencies, and maintain their competitive advantage.
Clayton is currently responsible for an audit portfolio across a range of industry sectors including:
- Large private companies
- Australian subsidiaries of large listed multinational companies
- Small to medium publicly listed companies
- Registered Clubs and not for profit
- Government
Clayton’s industry expertise is broad and includes manufacturing, retail, publishing, engineering, financial services, food and beverage, aged care and retirement living, hospitality and gaming and biotechnology.
Clayton has lectured in accounting and finance at the University of Newcastle and Macquarie University, Sydney.
